How to increase your water intake with fruit water

We are all guilty of slipping into bad habits. Not to mention when times are tough, we all look for comfort food. My own guilty habit is the vast consumption of tea.

There is nothing as good for you as a simple and honest glass of water. However, my issue with water is that it’s just a bit well…boring.

I know, I know…things that are good for you are rarely the nicest tasting things. But it made me think, there must be something I can do to make water a little more exciting to drink! That’s when I found out about infusing water with fruit!

So without further ado, I present to you favourite recipe to make your water intake even more yummy!

  • 10 Strawberries
  • 1 Lime
  • 1-2 Litres of water

Directions –

Quarter the strawberries, and the lime also. Add the fruit to a pitcher and top with the water. Give the mixture a good stir and allow to steep for a couple of hours at least for the best taste.

You could also add fizzy water or club soda for a lovely fizzy taste if you wanted something a bit different to serve to guests. Int this case you won’t be able to steep the mixture in the water as the water will go flat. So you may want to add more strawberries and lime, or add strawberries to everyone’s glass if serving to a crowd.

The beauty of infused waters are that you can play around with quantities to get the flavours you like.
